I don't know why but I'm a frog maker from way back. Just like Darwin's theory of evolution, my frogs have evolved as well. Giant googly eyes are gone, as are the big web feet, and no more sequin skin. Instead they are replaced with beautifully patterned and textured fabrics, embroidered eyes and long slender legs. The result is an uber slick new chic frog named Mee and her little best friend named Mii decked up in Liberty prints. They are a bit of an odd couple but the one thing they do have in common is that they both love to watch Downton Abbey. Will Lady Mary and Mathew profess their love - how different it would be if they had text messaging : ).

For quite a while I have been thinking about creating another doll, and for my final result I wanted to design a form that could be dressed in most items of clothing. This week I started creating the pattern, and when it seemed like it just wasn't going to work, I would wake up the next morning knowing exactly what corrections I needed to make for the pattern to work. So each morning this week at around 6:00am (ridiculous I know) I have been shaping the pattern for the new doll and on Thursday I started cutting and sewing. So here she is so far, laying on her side waiting for a pair of legs to be attached.

I've had this stunning piece of vintage fabric on my desk for quite a while, and on the weekend I was inspired to make a set of buttons from this beautiful fabric. I wanted to show more of the detail in the fabric and made a matching pouch for the buttons. The set of 9 buttons look wonderful each with their own design, they would even make a nice decorative piece presented in a simple frame.
